Developmental Services Inc. is seeking donations for its Client Emergency and Enhancement Fund this holiday season.

All funds go directly to help clients, said Clair Hirsch, DSI development coordinator.

“It is managed by front-line DSI staffers who are the most familiar with our clients and their greatest needs. The funds can be accessed quickly for emergencies like temporary housing for someone whose guardian has died suddenly,” Hirsch said.

Some of the contributions will allow disabled individuals to take part in social events such as dances, as well as educational or recreational field trips to museums, zoos and parks.

The fund supports helping with temporary emergency housing, paying utility or doctor bills, groceries or replacement glasses, client trips and client memberships to join service organizations, client outings to parks, libraries and museums and funding for special events such as holiday celebrations or cookouts.
