The National Weather Service issued a statement late Monday, urging motorists to use caution while driving Tuesday morning.

The agency said a light wintry mix of drizzle and flurries is expected late Monday into Tuesday morning and temperatures are expected to drop below freezing.

That combination could lead to freezing on untreated roadways, bridges, overpasses and ramps.

Motorists should allow for extra time to reach destinations Tuesday morning, and drive carefully where roadways appear wet, the statement said.
