Book discussion groups to meet around county in December

Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups plan to gather to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more in December.

The groups are open to adults, and there is no attendance requirement. The books are available to check out at the library checkout desks.

The Medora Library book discussion group, which usually meets on the fourth Monday of each month, will meet two weeks early in December due to Christmas. The group, lead by circulation manager Christina Hime, will gather and share thoughts on “The Christmas Quilt” by Jennifer Chiaverini at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the library, 27 W. Main St., Medora. Readers are welcome to bring their favorite Christmas snack to share.

The Tuesday Night Book Club will discuss its monthly book at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at Tokyo Hibachi, 1519 E. Tipton St., Seymour. Information services manager Janet Hensen will lead the review of “Confessions of a Domestic Failure” by Bunmi Laditan. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat. Sign up for the program when getting the book at the checkout desk.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which usually meets on the third Wednesday of each month, will meet a week early in December due to Christmas. The group will gather and share thoughts on “Two by Two” by Nicholas Sparks at 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at the library, 120 W. Main St., Crothersville. Readers are welcome to bring their favorite Christmas snack to share.

Fantastic Fiction will discuss “A Quilt for Christmas” by Sandra Dallas at 11 a.m. Dec. 14 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St. Readers are welcome to bring their favorite Christmas snack to share. Led by various staff members, this group meets on the third Friday of each month.
