Power outages reported in county due to wind

Duke Energy has 125 customers without power.

10:47 p.m. update: 

The number of Duke Energy customers without power has reached 397. The estimated time for restoration is listed as midnight, according to its website.

Jackson County REMC has restored power to most customers that reported outages in the county.

8:15 p.m. update:

Duke Energy has reported 181 customers without power due to high winds. Jackson County REMC has 90 customers without power.

More than 150 power outages have been reported in Jackson County for Duke Energy and Jackson County REMC customers.

Outages for Jackson County REMC customers have totaled 102 in Pershing and Washington townships. Duke Energy has reported 71 customers without service throughout Jackson County.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory until 10 p.m. Saturday. Wind gusts could reach between 45 and 55 miles per hour.

Restoration for Duke Energy customers is estimated at midnight. An estimate for Jackson County REMC customers was not available.

Duke Energy has reported 1,755 outages in Jennings County and 1,218 in Bartholomew County.
