The Indiana Department of Transportation recently issued a permit for intermittent closures of State Road 135 at Main Street in Vallonia between noon and 2 p.m. Saturday to facilitate Fort Vallonia Days festivities.

This year’s weekend event marks 50 years of Fort Vallonia Days, which is a pioneer festival staged every year on the third weekend in October.

Vallonia is located 3 miles south of Brownstown and U.S. 50 in Jackson County.
