Crothersville United Methodist Church is observing its 150th anniversary this year.

A celebration service is planned for 9 a.m. Sunday at the church, 108 N. Armstrong St., Crothersville. Pastor Brynen Chitwood and the congregation welcome former members and the public to attend. A meal is planned for noon in the annex.

The church organized in September 1868. The first pastor was the Rev. E.T. Shepherd.

Before the present building was built on Armstrong Street, meetings were conducted in a school building on the corner of Howard and Armstrong streets.
