A public hearing is set at the beginning of Tuesday’s Brownstown Town Council meeting at 6 p.m. at the town hall, 200 W. Walnut St.

The council will discuss an ordinance to vacate a 12-foot-wide alley parallel to Asher and Francis streets running north and south between Tanner and Cross streets adjoining lots 1, 2, 3, 22, 23 and 24.

The petition to vacate the alley was filed by Gary and Marjorie Day.

Other agenda items include Ewing Depot building lease agreement update, senior citizen center van agreement, park pond retaining wall, park swimming pool liner, town code of ordinances adoption, Hillview Mobile Home Park sewage billing, Heritage Days street closures and Halloween trick-or-treat date and time.

The meeting is open to the public and press.

At 5 p.m., the council will meet in executive session, which is closed to the public and press.

The council normally meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month, but the next meeting was moved because of the Labor Day holiday.
