Changes made to races due to rain out

BROWNSTOWN

The “Thursday Night Thunder” racing event at the 2018 Jackson County Fair on Thursday was rained-out during the heat races.

The “Print Worx” Indiana Pro Late Models and Hornets will be added to tonight’s Grand Champion Fair Race.

The “A & K Excavating” Modifieds and the “Woolston Automotive” Super Stocks were already slated to appear Saturday night.

Each class from Thursday night will re-draw and have a complete new racing event.

The Jackson Couny Fair’s Grand Champion Fair race will feature the “EZ-Lift” Super Late Models racing in the $2,500 to win $225 to start “6th Paul Crockett Memorial,” “A & K Excavating” Modifieds $1,000 to win $100 to start, “Woolston Automotive” Super Stocks $1,000 to win $100 to start, the “Pewter Hall” Pure Stocks $500 to win $60 to start and now the “Print Worx” Indiana Pro Late Models and Hornets will also be on hand.

Prices: Adults Grandstand entrance $20 / Kids 6-12 Grandstand entrance $2 / Kids under 6 free Grandstand entrance, pit passes $35.

Wristbands from Thursday’s rain out will only be honored with an additional $5 (due to gate prices already being $5 more).

Box seat ticket holders from Thursday will need to present their tickets at the grandstand gate.

Hot laps are slated to begin at 6 p.m. with races beginning at 7 p.m.

Kickball, 3-on-3 basketball sign ups underway

The Seymour Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the Fall 3-on-3 Basketball League until August 30. All games will be played at Gaiser Park on Thursday evenings.

The $150 registration fee covers up to five player fees and is required at the time of registration. Each additional player fee is $15. Players must be 18 or older to participate.

Parks and Rec. are also accepting registrations for the Adult Kickball League until August 17. All games will be played on Tuesday evenings.

The cost to register a team is $25 per player with a minimum 10-player team. The league is for individuals ages 15 and older.
