Moving in the right direction results in positive change in life

People don’t drift into positive life change. People don’t float aimlessly through life and wind up someday full of faith living the life God has called them to live.

Choosing a new and better direction for your life is an on-purpose decision. That kind of change doesn’t just happen. You won’t drift toward into a better life. You must choose it. The drift always takes us farther and farther away from God and his best for our lives.

You’ll have to fight for this. It is not easy, but it can be done with God’s help. He will provide you the power to do what you could never do on your own.

The point is you can’t just sit back and wait for the desired changes to take place. It is up to you to aggressively step out and move in the direction you know you need to go. That’s the way to see positive change in your life.

Unfortunately, so many people never seem to get there. They never experience that kind of life change because change is not always easy.

In fact, change can be quite difficult. There is a high price to pay for change. There is always an easier path to take. It is called the path of least resistance.

But the good news is that there is a path that is right. You can choose to take the high road. You can decide you will do the right thing. You can make the right choice. It is not an easy choice. In fact, it is a tough choice. It will seem like the lonely choice at times. It is a courageous choice.

Maybe you, like the prodigal son (see Luke 15:11-24), are just a few decisions away from coming to your senses and changing some things in your life. Maybe you have been in the pigpen for a long time.

But God has been speaking, and you have been listening. You are coming to your senses. You know what the future is going to look like if you continue down the road you are on. It will look a whole lot like your past, only worse. There is a downward spiral.

Today, you can take action. Today, you can choose a better path for your life. It is entirely up to you. Are you ready to embrace the power of God and walk toward something new and good? It all begins with a decision to change.
