Hayden Historical Museum’s annual meeting set for Monday

The Hayden Historical Museum annual meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday in the pavilion as part of the Hayden Little Hoosier Historians’ last regular meeting of the school year.

The fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders who make up the Hayden Little Hoosier Historians will be wrapping up the end of the school year by recognizing outstanding chapter members. A brief review of their activities and projects also will be presented.

Bryan Boyd, a Jennings County native and a relative of former Gov. Edgar D. Whitcomb, produced a documentary for PBS TV under the title “Full Circle: The Life and Times of Edgar D. Whitcomb.”

Whitcomb died Feb. 4, 2016, and is buried in Hayden.

Boyd also produced a videotape of Whitcomb’s U.S. 50 dedication ceremony that took place April 30, 2008, in Rome, Indiana, where he lived at that time. The DVD will be shown as part of Monday’s program.

Refreshments will be available, and visitors are welcome to visit the museum’s various exhibit areas after the meeting.

Everyone is welcome to attend this special program.
