The 19th annual Great U.S. 50 Yard Sale is Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

From its beginnings in North Vernon in 2000, the sale now has participation from California to Maryland, including running through Jackson County.

Participation is open to everyone, and there are no national fees for participation. Some communities officially organize for the event, while in other sections of the country, organization is at the individual level.

Churches, clubs, schools and organizations are welcome to join the sale and use the event as a fundraiser.

Participants are reminded that all sales are subject to applicable local laws, and all vendors should allow for ample parking along with easy and safe access to and from the highway.
