Spring Bluegrass Festival to feature 14 bands

The Norman Station Conservation Club presents its annual outdoor Spring Bluegrass Festival on Friday and Saturday.

Fourteen bluegrass bands will be performing from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and noon to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Friday’s schedule includes Norman Station, 4 p.m.; Pete & Jessie, 4:50 p.m.; Evening Light Gospel, 5:40 p.m.; James White & Deer Creek, 6:30 p.m.; and Brian Leaver & Friends, 7:20 p.m.

Saturday’s schedule includes Mt. Liberty Way, noon; High Sierra, 12:50 p.m.; Blue Grass Express, 1:40 p.m.; Sure Shot Turkey Dusters, 2:30 p.m.; Beech Creek Gap, 3:20 p.m.; Lost River Risin’, 4:10 p.m.; Hamilton Creek, 5:50 p.m.; and Backwoods Bluegrass, 6:40 p.m. The final act is to be announced.

Campsites are available on the club’s 3½-acre lake. Call Reba Adkins at 812-525-7194 for a reservation.

For early camping arrivals ad others, a pitch-in supper will be at 6 p.m. today at the main shelter house. Food will be provided for the duration of the festival. People may bring lawn chairs.

The club is located in northwestern Jackson County on County Road 450N, a tenth of a mile east of County Road 1250W (Norman Road).
