First Responder Appreciation Day is set for 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at New Life Missionary Baptist Church, 709 W. Bridge St., Brownstown.

Rescue vehicles, including helicopters if the weather permits, plan to be at the event. There also will be bounce houses, music by Driven and hamburgers and hot dogs. Sheriff candidates may make appearances to answer questions from the public.
