Friends group planning bimonthly book sale

The Friends of the Jackson County Public Library’s bimonthly book sale will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the meeting room at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

A special Friends-only preview of the sale is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday and at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. There will be a few remaining pieces of furniture and equipment for sale.

Items are priced as follows: Adult hardback and softbound books are $1 each; children’s books, young adult books and small paperbacks are 50 cents each; and DVDs are priced at $2 each. During the final two hours of the sale from 2 to 4 p.m., volunteers will hand out bags to fill with books for $3 a bag.

Donations of gently used books, DVDs and CDs are welcome to help stock upcoming bimonthly sales and the ongoing sales at Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries. Drop them off at any checkout desk during library hours.

Anyone interested in becoming a Friend of the Jackson County Public Library or renewing their present membership will find forms at the sale, at the checkout desks or online. Annual dues are $5 for individuals, $10 for family, $25 for donor and $50 for benefactor.

The next book sale will be July 7.
