An Ash Wednesday service is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday at Brownstown United Methodist Church, 110 N. Poplar St., Brownstown.

This will be followed by Ministry of Hope Lenten services at various churches on Sunday evenings during Lent with service at 6 p.m. and supper at 7 p.m.

The schedule for Lenten services at other United Methodist churches in Jackson County is as follows: Mount Zion on Feb. 18; Freetown on Feb. 25; Medora on March 4; Vallonia on March 11; Surprise on March 18; and Brownstown on March 25. Good Friday services will be at 7 p.m. March 30 at White’s Chapel.

Services are open to everyone.
