Alvin “Spunk” Freeman, 85, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on January 30, 2018 at Hope Hospice. He was born on December 17, 1932 in Medora, Indiana to Hugh and Laverne Freeman Ault.

In 1952, he married Juanita Davis of Medora, Indiana. He served in the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1955. He retired in 1985 after 30 years with Cummins Engine Co. Spunk was recognized for his work as an Assistant Cub Scout Leader, and he was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He was also well known for his basketball and baseball skills and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Juanita Freeman; his son, James Freeman (Martha); his son, Robin Freeman (Kim); his son, Marty Freeman; his son, Monty Freeman (Antoine Favero); his granddaughter, Jamie Freeman (Matt W.); his granddaughter, Carrie Calandro (Joe); his grandson, Brett Freeman and his wife Stephanie; and his 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas (Ike) Freeman, and his sister Gloria Jones.

Interment will take place at the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL. Memorials may be designated to Hope Hospice of Ft. Myers by phone at 800-335- 1673, or online at Donate.HopeHCS.org
