Braves beat Panthers

NORTH VERNON

Brownstown Central scored 26 points in the second quarter and never looked back in a 64-45 victory against Jennings County on Monday.

The Braves trailed 14-10 after eight minutes before outscoring the Panthers 26-12 in the second quarter. In that second-quarter span, Shelby Stuckwisch scored eight points and Tayler Garland had seven.

Both teams scored eight points in the third quarter before the Braves put up 20 in the fourth to secure the win.

Tayler Garland led the Braves with 22 points and Shelby Stuckwisch added 12.

The Braves (17-6) hit seven 3-pointers in the game, including four by Garland.

Brownstown will travel to North Harrison on Thursday for a Mid-Southern Conference game.

Tigers drop SAC game

CROTHERSVILLE

Henryville edged Crothersville 55-50 in a Southern Athletic Conference game on Monday.

The Hornets (11-11, 4-1 SAC) opened with a 14-13 lead after eight minutes of play before building the lead to 26-24 at the half.

Crothersville (12-9, 2-2 SAC) was outscored 15-14 in the third quarter and 14-12 in fourth quarter as the Tigers were unable to mount a mini comeback.

Tayler Brewer led the Tigers with 16 points and nine rebounds and Maddie Riley scored 12.

Crothersville will conclude its regular season by hosting New Washington tonight.
