The board of directors of Jackson County Visitor Center recently awarded developmental grants, totaling $20,000 to three organizations.

Those receiving grants were Seymour Park and Recreation Department for prepping the baseball diamonds at Kasting Park to accommodate softball tournaments; Brownstown Ewing Main Street for concrete flower planters and hanging baskets; and the Medora Brick Plant and Historical Sites committee to assist with funding phase II of a planning studying, including concept plans.

Developmental grants were established to offer one-to-one funding match assistance to nonprofit groups; a city, county or public organization; a tourism-related business; or an organizational combination thereof for new projects or enhancements designed to have a direct impact on Jackson County and tourism.
