Duke Energy customers in the Brownstown and Vallonia areas are experiencing power outages at this time.

As of 9 a.m. Sunday, Jackson County REMC also was reporting 1,357 of its customers in Grassy Fork, Jackson, Vernon and Washington townships were without power.

The Duke outages began at about 8:40 a.m. Sunday when one of a series of storms passed through the area.
