Make sure to follow fireworks rules


Seymour Fire Department and Seymour Police Department recently issued a reminder about the city’s rules governing the use of fireworks during the Fourth of July holiday period.

According to city ordinance, the use of fireworks by any person is prohibited in the corporate limits of Seymour except during the following periods:

Between the hours of 5 p.m. and two hours after sunset on June 29 to July 3 and July 5 to July 9.

On July 4, the law states fireworks can be set between the hours of 10 a.m. and midnight.
