The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Post 1925 conducted its monthly meeting May 10 at the post home.

President Barb Barger conducted the meeting according to auxiliary ritual.

Plans were made for the VFW Auxiliary State Convention from June 16 to 18 at Indianapolis Marriott Center East. Delegates are Brenda Hunter and Norma Kriete.

The 117th VFW National Convention also was discussed. It will be July 23 through 27 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Hunter will be going as the auxiliary delegate.

Barger reminded those present that the auxiliary bake sale will be June 4 at Tractor Supply Co. and that baked goods could be brought to the post before the sale or taken to the bake sale. Also, she gave a reminder that life membership dues will be increasing Jan. 1, so now is the time to purchase one.

The float committee reported it is working on getting an auxiliary float ready for the Red, White and Blue Festival parade June 11 in Crothersville.

Lois Byrkett and Brenda Pennie were appointed to a committee to bring the VFW Auxiliary life membership plaque up-to-date, and Kriete reported that the auxiliary charter was being repaired and updated.

Carol Ann Lynch was accepted into membership of the auxiliary and was initiated by Barger.

Hunter, past Ninth District president, installed the new officers for 2016. They are Barger, president; Pennie, senior vice president; Lila Grant, junior vice president; Mary Lou Taulbee, secretary; Daleina Lucas, treasurer;  Kriete, chaplain; Byrkett, guard; and June Arthur, third-year trustee.

The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. June 14 at VFW Post 1925.
