A couple of activities have been planned at Beck’s Mill near Salem.

The first is Sunday when Beck’s Mill Mother’s Day will be from 1 to 4 p.m. All visiting mothers will receive a sample bag of Beck’s Mill cornmeal.

The third annual May Day Festival also has been set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 14.

Parking lot activities will start at 10 a.m., and craft vendors and the mill will open at 11 a.m. There will be pioneer demonstrations, including spinning, blacksmithing, pottery, knife sharpening and corn milling.

A local student art show will be conducted in the Beck cabin with a people’s choice voting award to be given. Brooklyn Thompson will play her fiddle for all to dance around the May pole. There will be free halos to all children that dance, face painting, children’s crafts and more.

Beck’s Mill is at 4433 S. Beck’s Mill Road in Salem.
