Hearts of Home Club March Meeting

Hearts of Home Extension Homemakers Club met March 17 at Zaharakos in downtown Columbus.

After prayer, members were served lunch.

President Glenda Neawedde opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the homemakers club creed.

The thought for the day was “Friendship is only to be purchased by friendship.”

Roll call was answered by describing a time when you flew a kite.

Janet Jarvis gave a citizenship lesson entitled “Park on the Sidewalk, Walk on the Street” and told about “The Birth of Alka-Seltzer.”

Neawedde gave the group lesson, “Written By a Cop.” It gave tips on safety as you are out and about and tips that may save you or a loved one’s life. An information pamphlet was given to each member.

Tell-A-Homemakers News and “Everyday Gardening for Everyone” was distributed.

Upcoming events include the 2016 Home and Family Conference on June 13, 14 and 15 and Achievement Night on May 12.

Jarvis gave devotions entitled “The Bread.”

The next meeting will be April 21 at Christie’s in Salem.
