Luther George Croinex, 75, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 18, 1940, in Summitville, New York. On June 28, 1998, in Seymour, he married Joeann Gibson Croinex. She survives.

Luther graduated high school and served in the Vietnam War as a Navy Seal. He was a long haul truck driver and worked for Rightway Fastener for many years. Luther was a member of American Legion Post 89 in Seymour, the Moose Lodge and New Life Assembly of God church. He loved spending time with his family and his “baby,” his dog, Bandit.

Besides his wife, survivors include his five daughters, Jill (Terry) Pike, Susan (Kent) Wagner, Linda (Jeff) Rumph, Brenda (Jay) Creech and Kathy (Mac) MacDonald; his son, Jonathan Luther Schepman; 10 grandchildren, Larry Sizemore, Brandy Sizemore, Jeremy Johnson, Krystal Perry, David Lyle, Megan Howard, William Wagner, Thomas Wagner, Matthew Wagner and Nick Hadley; and eight great-grandchildren, Chanelle Sizemore, Addison Perry, Kayleigh Johnson, Kaylynn Perry, Jayden Perry, Natalie Lyle, Edward Dean Wagner and Jett Johnson.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Jan. 9 at New Life Assembly of God with Pastor Steve Hyer officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service.
