Ruth Murray, 85, of Seymour, formerly of rural Crothersville, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at her daughter’s home.

Born March 14, 1930, in Deputy, she was the daughter of Burgan and Grace Davis Winburn. On June 26, 1970, in Scottsburg, she married Earl Wayne Murray, who preceded her in death on April 7, 2014.

She was retired from Regal Industries where she served as secretary. Ruth worshiped with several church congregations and was a faithful servant of God. She enjoyed reading, quilting, cross-stitching, knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include three children, Peggy Davidson of Seymour, Robert (Sue) Spicer of Crothersville and Alice Brock of Crothersville; a stepdaughter, Sue Henry of Crothersville; eight grandchildren, Tim (Christy) Henry of Salem, Julie (James) Lucas of Brownstown, Holly (Bill) Requardt of Bristol, Tennessee, John Beckemeyer of Columbus, Christie (Shane) Busby of Seymour, Ashley Spicer of Seymour, Brittany (Chad) Denton of Columbus, and Andrew “Mitch” Spicer of Tampa, Florida; and 13 great–grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary “Jeanette” Meeks, Katherine Gibson and Mabel Winburn; a brother, Ralph Winburn; a son-in-law, Doug Davidson; and a stepson-in-law, Don Henry.

The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Adams Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Crothersville with the Rev. Mike Seaney officiating.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of service. Private graveside services will be Thursday at Austin Cemetery.
