Southern Indiana Center for the Arts’ Paint the Town crew will be partnering with the Jackson County Learning Center for a red, white and blue stars and stripes acrylic painting from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 8.

This event is being conducted in conjunction with the learning center’s flag-raising ceremony and fifth anniversary.

Participants will be painting on a 16-by-20-inch wooden pallet to create a piece of outdoor art for their home. The painting features wavy red and white stripes and a field of blue and stars scattered across the pallet.

Preregistration and prepayment are required. Call the arts center at 812-522-2278 to ensure everyone gets supplies to finish the project. Cost of $25 covers all supplies and instruction. Arts center members receive a 20 percent discount. Class size is limited.
