Loyett Jean Harrison, 96, of Hope, formerly of Medora, died at 11:36 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hope.

Born Aug. 28, 1918, in Medora, she was the daughter of Daniel Woods and Grace Johnson Woods, both of whom preceded her in death. On Nov. 12, 1935, in Bedford, she married Henry Harrison, who passed away in 1998.

Loyett was a homemaker and was also a cook in the cafeteria at Medora Community Schools. She also had been a clerk for Shepherd Grocery Store and Ernest Grocery Store in Medora.

She loved to cook, sew and work crossword puzzles. She was a member of Medora Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include a son, Arnold (Vicki) Harrison of Bedford; daughter, Virginia “Jenny” (Bill) Fish of Columbus; four grandchildren, Christy (Joe) Elam, Amber Johnson, Joe (Wendy) Fish and James (Machelle) Fish; several great-grand grandchildren; and two sisters, Wynona Lienhoop of Columbus and Peggy Meahl of Vallonia.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Fish; four brothers, Tal Fish, Bob Fish, Harlan Fish and Bud Fish; and a sister, Rosetta Fish.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hague Funeral Home in Medora with the Rev. Bob Persinger officiating. Burial will be at White River Valley Cemetery in Medora.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus or donor’s choice of charity.
