Hyden (NMN) Allen, 81, of Seymour passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, in Seymour.

Born Aug. 10, 1933, in Confluence, Kentucky, he was the son of General and Orpha Wooten Allen, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Carol C. Vogel Allen, of 30 years; two sons, Kenneth Allen and Wayne Allen; stepson, Ted Vogel of Columbus; stepdaughter Fran Vogel of Ripley, Mississippi; sisters, Susanne (Ray) Benson of Elsmere, Kentucky, Martha (Richard) Fincher of Ladson, South Carolina, Betty Triplett of Boone, North Carolina, and Mary Houston of Pineville, Kentucky; a brother Sherman (Joyce) Allen of North Vernon; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Beacher Allen; and sisters, Rebecca “Becky” Fields, Jewell “Julie” Allen and Emmie Bradshaw.

As per his wish, Hyden was cremated at Voss Funeral Services. A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
