Girls Inc. of Jackson County’s fifth annual Turkey Trot is set for Nov. 27 at the club, 956 N. O’Brien St. in Seymour.

The 8K run and 5K walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. from the Girls Inc. parking lot in Seymour. Donated door prizes from local businesses will be given away throughout the morning.

Last year, nearly 400 runners and walkers joined the race.

The cost for registration is $35 plus five nonperishable food items to donate to Jackson County Human Services’ food bank. Registrants may choose to take $5 off if they don’t want a T-shirt.

This year, kids races are available free to children 11 and younger ($10 for a T-shirt).

Race day registration is available to both kids and adults beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Proceeds benefit Girls Inc. and its goal of inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold.
