For the first time this golf season, the weather finally cooperated in southern Indiana.

The Seymour Invitational Tournament that was postponed earlier this year took place Saturday in Seymour High School’s Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium.

Seymour used the long ball power of Skyler Cockerham and Treyton McCormick to roll to a 9-2 win over Brownstown Central at American Legion field Tuesday afternoon.

Golf

The Brownstown boys golf team hosted Mitchell at Hickory Hills Golf Course on Monday night in what was one of the few events that survived the weather in Southern Indiana.

Last September, Scott Sage became the new youth director at First Baptist Church of Crothersville.

On a regular basis, Eric Juarez Zarate and A.J. Engel have reminded their new Unified track and field coaches that they were part of the team that made it to the state finals last year.

Softball

Trinity Lutheran’s baseball team came up with 13 hits and scored in every inning to defeat Crothersville 12-2 in six innings Friday afternoon.

The Seymour track and field team hosted Jennings County and Bedford North Lawrence on Thursday night for the Owls’ second meet of the season.
