Crothersville robotics team receives Judges Award at tournament

The Crothersville Elementary School Tiger Robotics 47229A team, consisting of, from left, fourth-grader Brielle Durham and fifth-graders Levi Waymire, Gavin Asher and Samantha Orrill, received the Judges Award during a tournament Feb. 3 at Immanuel Lutheran School in Seymour. Fifth-grader Cooper McKinney also is on the team but wasn’t at the tournament. Key criteria of the award are the team displays special attributes, exemplary effort or perseverance at the event, the team overcomes an obstacle or challenge and achieves a goal or special accomplishment and the team interview demonstrates effective communication skills, teamwork, professionalism and a student-centered ethos. Coach Tiffany Orrill said they also had a rock star-designed engineering notebook.
