State District 44 Sen. Eric Koch, R-Bedford, recently was reappointed to the Probate Code Study Commission by Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray, R-Martinsville.

The commission studies and considers needed changes to the probate code, trust code and any other statute affecting the administration of a decedent’s estate, guardianship, probate jurisdiction, trust or fiduciary.

Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members — eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.

District 44 includes Brown, Jackson, Lawrence and Orange counties and portions of Monroe County.
