Mr. Eddie Carr,79, of Seymour, passed away on June 25, 2021, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Eddie was born in Jennings County, the son of the late Newell B. and Ella M. (Mackey) Carr.

He married his best friend and the love of his life, Caroline Sue Sterling on July 10, 1960.

Eddie was a very devoted husband, father, man of his word, who provided leadership for his entire family. He retired as a brick mason after many years of dedicated service with the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Contractors. Eddie was a member of the NRA, loved golfing, softball, deer hunting, fishing, and woodworking as he was a craftsman.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 60 years Caroline, children, Tim Carr and Shawn Poynter, and a brother, Max (Corinne) Carr, grandchildren, Bobby (Jessica) Carr, Eric (Christina) Carr, Kory (Hannah) Erwin, Kyle Erwin, Colin Erwin, Samantha Hineman, and Sidney Carr, great grandchildren, Zoe and Raiden Erwin, Kylee and Waylan Erwin, McKenna Carr, Adilee White, Madalyn Wampner, Trentan Hineman, Lindsey Rooks, Alexis and Jaedan England.

He is preceded in death by his son, Scott Carr, parents, brothers, David Carr, John F. Carr, Harold Carr, Ben Carr, sisters, Betty Engleking, Ella Pickron, and Marilyn Terry.

Funeral service will be Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at Voss and Sons Funeral Service.

Family and friends may visit at Voss Chapel on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday after 9 a.m. until time of service.

Graveside service will follow the funeral at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials maybe designated to charity of choice.
