Imaginative crafters of all ages are invited to a Faerie Gathering on June 22 at Lake Monroe’s Paynetown State Recreation Area, 4850 S. State Road 446, Bloomington.

The event kicks off with a woodland faerie scavenger hunt at 10:30 a.m. The scavenger hunt meets in front of the overflow parking area.

From 1 to 3 p.m., there is a drop-in faerie crafting circle at the activity center featuring six different faerie-themed crafts for people to make while supplies last.

A clay pot faerie house workshop will be at 4:30 p.m., and the cost is $3 per participant. A faerie door workshop is at 8 p.m., and the cost is $4 per participant. Both workshops are limited to 10 people.

Reserve your spot for the two workshops inside the activity center between 1 and 5 p.m. Any remaining openings will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis at the workshops. Cash or check only.

For information contact Jill Vance, interpretive naturalist for Lake Monroe, at [email protected].

The daily fee to enter the recreation area is $7 per vehicle with Indiana plates or $9 per vehicle with out-of-state plates. State park annual entrance permits also are accepted.
