The Crothersville Community School Corp. board of trustees recently approved the 2018-19 school calendar.

The first day of school for teachers and staff will be Aug. 1, and students will start Aug. 2.

School will not be in session Sept. 3 for Labor Day, Oct. 8 through 12 for fall break, Nov. 21 through 23 for Thanksgiving break and Dec. 24 through Jan. 4 for Christmas break. Students and staff will return from Christmas break Jan. 7.

There will be no school Nov. 6 for Election Day, Jan. 14 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Feb. 18 for Presidents Day. The latter two could be used for makeup days if needed.

School also won’t be in session March 25 through 29 for spring break and April 19 for Good Friday.

Built-in snow days are scheduled for Dec. 21, April 22 and May 3 and 7.

April 19 and 22 also are possible makeup days.

The last day of school for students is set for May 24, and teachers’ last day is May 28. Graduation will be at 8 p.m. May 24 in the high school gymnasium.

If necessary, snow days will be used to make up student instructional days. Any additional days missed will be added to the end of the scheduled school year beginning May 28.
