City board of works to meet Thursday

The Seymour Board of Public Works and Safety is scheduled to meet at 11 a.m. Thursday in the George Green Council Chambers at city hall, 301 N. Chestnut St., Seymour.

New items on the agenda include special requests for use of the Walnut St. parking lot (the site of the Farmers Market) including by Chick-fil-A and The Rolling Pig Pin. Additionally, organizers of the 17th Annual Midnight Run 5K on July 12 and the 11th Annual Boys and Girls Club Youth Triathalon on June 29 have both requested police assistance.

Other new business on the agenda includes mobile food truck license renewals and the approval of two events the city’s Parks and Recreation Department will hold: a basketball tournament at Shields Park and “Kickball with the Seymour Cyclones” at Kessler Park. The board will also discuss a memorandum of understanding between the City of Seymour and Tom Melton, and the approval of ARC of Jackson County signage at Gaiser Park.
