The fourth annual Seymour Pride event is coming up this month as Pride month began the first of June.

It’s set for 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 30th at Celebrations, 357 Tanger Boulevard, Suite 101, at Shops at Seymour.

Admission is free, and is a family-friendly event for all ages organized by local nonprofit organization Jackson County Pride Alliance and sponsored by Cummins.

“We love that so many people from our town and surrounding areas have an event to come to and feel seen, accepted and celebrated,” said JCPA Secretary Tiffany York. “We have also enjoyed the support from our local community as a whole.”

Food trucks will be onsite for people to make purchases and a variety of vendors will be set up inside, including community partners providing resources and locals selling items, such as crafts, jewelry and more.

A DJ will provide entertainment and raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the day.

The kids area includes balloon animal crafts and face painting activities.

A Drag Story Time will be from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and a family-friendly drag show will be from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Two off-duty officers will also be present to provide security and safety for the event, York said.

The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Jackson County Pride Alliance was formed thanks to a large grant from Cummins and Serenity Closet last year.
