Douglas “Doug” Parker Turner, 49, of Crothersville, IN, passed away on June 2, 2024, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, IN. Doug was born on July 1, 1974, in Rochester, NY. He was lovingly raised by his late father, Henry Happel Jr., and his mother, Ann (Armes) Happel, who survives in Jeffersonville, IN. On September 21, 2019, Doug married the love of his life, Lisa (Fields) Turner, at White Creek Acres in Bartholomew County. Lisa survives in Crothersville, IN.

Doug was a dedicated worker, most recently employed at Lannett Pharmaceutical in Seymour, IN, and previously served as a manager at Walmart in Scottsburg, IN. Doug was a man of many interests and passions. He found joy in playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends every week and enjoyed playing golf. A voracious reader, Doug especially loved the genres of sci-fi and fantasy. Known for his vast knowledge on numerous topics, he was also an expert in music and enjoyed singing karaoke.

Doug will be remembered for his humor, intelligence, kindness, competitiveness, and overall, being a good man.

Doug is survived by his wife, Lisa (Fields) Turner of Crothersville, IN; his mother, Ann (Armes) Happel of Jeffersonville, IN; his two children, Dylan Davis of Madison, IN, and Emily Cooper of Bloomington, IN; and his sister, Christina Turner of Jeffersonville, IN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Happel Jr.

A memorial visitation to honor Doug’s life will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Cremation services have been entrusted to Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Doug’s memory may be made to Read Jackson County, c/o Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 110 East Howard Street, Crothersville, IN 47229. Doug’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
