William Clyde Davis of Crothersville, IN, passed away on May 6, 2024, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, IN, at the age of 85. He was born on March 6, 1939, in Scottsburg, IN, to the late William Robert and Mary Eunice (Rhodus) Davis.

Clyde was a devoted husband to Janie L. (Fields) Davis, whom he married on July 16, 1960. Together, they shared many years of love and companionship until her passing on October 25, 2012. Clyde dedicated five decades of his life to Cummins Engine Company, retiring in 2009. His commitment and hard work left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community. A proud graduate of Crothersville High School, Clyde remained deeply rooted in his hometown throughout his life. He was actively involved in various organizations, including the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge in Crothersville, and the Shriners. In his leisure time, Clyde found solace in simple pleasures. He could often be found sitting in his garage, surrounded by the things he loved most. He had a passion for nature, frequently spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and gathering pecans from his mother’s tree. His fascination with cars was evident in his hobby of trading, cleaning, and admiring their beauty.

Clyde is remembered as a humble and kind-hearted man, whose love for his family knew no bounds. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his children: Anita Kay (Scott E.) Ude and William A. (Melanie) Davis, both of Crothersville, IN; grandchildren Jessica R. (Evan King) Luedeman of Crothersville, IN, and Taylor (Danielle Casilla Bain) Davis of Scottsburg, IN; and great-grandson Jude Scott Howard of Crothersville, IN.

Clyde was preceded in death by his wife Janie L. (Fields) Davis, and parents, William Robert and Mary Eunice (Rhodus) Davis.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Crothersville, with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on the same day. Memorial donations may be made in Clyde’s honor to Crothersville Cemetery c/o Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 110 East Howard Street, Crothersville, IN 47229.

Clyde’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
