Brownstown Central

The Braves matched up with Mitchell on Tuesday evening in a ‘clash’ on the baseball diamond. The Bluejackets took an early 3-0 lead after the first inning.

Mitchell compiled 13 hits, defeating the Braves 6-1 to grab their 13th win of the season. On offense, Brownstown had five hits from five different players. Jaxson Johnson, Grayson Cassidy, Ethan Garland, Keetan Burcham-Jones, and Preston Garrison recorded the hits for the Braves.

Dalton Reedy started on the mound, pitching five innings, allowing eight hits, four runs, three of them earned. He struck out four batters in his outing. Garland finished the final two innings, allowing five hits and two runs.

Brownstown hosts Charlestown tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.

Softball

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars faced off with Hauser on Tuesday evening, dropping the matchup with the Jets, 17-4. Hauser jumped on Trinity, scoring runs in all four innings to grab the win. The Jets, scored two in the first, four in the second, five in the third, and six runs in the fourth.

Trinity made it interesting at 6-4 after the top of the third inning, but Hauser responded to secure the win. Emerson Warren, Olivia Cain, Addi Burcham, Grace Lance, and Cami Keaton recorded the five hits for the team.

The Cougars will host Lanesville on Thursday at 5:30 p.m, before traveling to Brownstown on Saturday for a matchup at 10 a.m.

The Lady Braves faced off with the third ranked team in Class 3A in Silver Creek, who came in at 23-5 on the season. The Dragons scored six runs in the first inning, leading to an 11-0 win over Brownstown Central.

The team wouldn’t acquire a hit in the game. Brownstown will host North Harrison tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.

The Lady Braves edged out the Musketeers 3-2 in girls’ tennis on Tuesday evening. Brownstown won the second and third singles match and the second doubles matchup to win the meet.

The Braves will host Scottsburg this evening at 4:45 p.m, before hosting Trinity Lutheran tomorrow at 4:30 p.m.
