Robert William “Bob” Toppe, 74, of Commiskey, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at his residence.

Born September 1, 1949, in Seymour, he was the son of the late Robert Eugene and Patricia A. (Hargrove) Toppe. He married Willadean “Deanie” Doty on August 13, 1966, at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour; she preceded him in death on December 12, 2022.

Bob was owner and operator for Bass Master’s Sport and Tackle in Seymour for 35 years, and Toppe Construction and Concrete. He has also worked for Polly Building Supply. Bob was a member of Bass Master Association where he served as President and Treasurer and was one of the first members to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was also a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour and Coffee Creek Conservation Club in Commiskey. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his son, Robert Andrew (Cindy) Toppe of Brownstown; his daughter, Michele Dawn (Bob Lewis) Toppe of Martinsville; brother, Tim (Robin) Toppe of Indianapolis; sisters, Mary Jo Gallion and Vickie (Robin) Toppe both of Seymour; grandchildren, Nick (Brittany) Toppe of Vallonia and Alex (Katie) Toppe of Reddington; great-grandchild, Lincoln Toppe of Reddington; and his special friend, Krissy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his sibling, Mike Toppe.

A private family service will be held at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Bob through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
