Henry Wallace “Wally” Fries, 81, embarked on his final journey on April 28, 2024, leaving behind a legacy cherished by his beloved family and friends. He was born on March 27, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late William H. and Bertha (Briscoe) Fries.

Wally’s journey through life was marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for engineering. After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, he embarked on a career that spanned decades, leaving an indelible mark on companies like Hughes Helicopter/Aircraft, McDonnell Douglass, Kobelco, Electrox, and Walgreens.

Beyond his professional achievements, Wally found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a green thumb that brought life and vibrancy to his garden, where he spent countless hours nurturing his plants and feeding the birds that visited his home. His backyard Koi fish pond was a sanctuary of tranquility where he found peace amidst the busyness of life.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Marcia Fries; his children, Paula Hamilton, Allison Francisco, and Jeff Fries; and his grandchildren, Veronica, Natalie, Olivia, Emma, Alexis, and Adam, who will continue to carry his spirit forward.

Wally Fries will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his warmth, generosity, and love for the natural world. As he takes his place among the stars, his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
