Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Ragle Inc. plans to reduce State Road 258 to one lane over White Creek on or after Monday, May 6, to begin a bridge rehabilitation project in Jackson County.

Work will take place approximately three miles west of Cortland just east of North County Road 100 East. Alternating lane closures will take place each day from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Flagging operations will be utilized while work is in progress and State Road 258 will remain fully open while crews are not actively working.

Signage will be placed in the area prior to the start of construction. Work is expected to be complete by late July, weather permitting.

This work is part of a contract awarded to Ragle Inc. in February 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when travelling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
