Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars traveled to Indianapolis Lutheran for a doubleheader on Saturday morning. Trinity defeated the Saints in the opening game 3-1. Led by Drake Goodpaster and Kowan Gross on offense, who both recorded hits in the sixth inning to hold the lead. Jackson Trueblood threw seven strong innings on the mound for Trinity, allowing three hits and striking out seven Saints.

In game 2, the Saints would pile on 8 runs through four innings, holding off the Cougars 8-4. Indianapolis Lutheran slugged two home runs in the second game to get the win.

Trinity will travel to Oldenburg Academy for a matchup with the Twisters on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Brownstown Central

The Braves hosted high-powered Class 4A Floyd Central on Friday evening, dropping the meeting with the Highlanders, 14-0. Floyd improved to 13-2 on the season with the victory. Brownstown was halted to one hit, and now prepares to face Seymour at home on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Brownstown Central

The Lady Braves traveled to face Indian Creek on Friday evening. The game was a back-and-forth battle between both teams, tied at two through one inning. Indian Creek scored another run in the second, before Brownstown scored another run to tie it in the third inning at three.

Madi Bracken of Indian Creek singled in the bottom of the sixth to score the winning run, taking the game 4-3. Kinzee Dean drove in two RBI’s for Brownstown.

Brownstown travels to Floyd Central for a matchup tonight at 6 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran and Crothersville

A clash of Jackson County schools transpired on Friday evening, when the Cougars faced the Tigers on the softball diamond.

Trinity defeated Crothersville 14-3 after six innings of play, after compiling 18 hits as a team. Led by Emerson Warren who had four hits, followed by Grace Lance and Blayklee Hancock who had three in the win.

The Cougars allowed Crothersville to use a pitcher and catcher, in Cami Keaton and Maddie Adams due to injuries. Trinity held a 2-0 lead after two innings, before adding the other twelve runs in the final three frames to secure the 11-run win.

Girls Tennis

Brownstown Central

The Lady Braves faced off with Silver Creek on Friday evening in girls’ tennis. Brownstown fell to the Dragons 3-2. Avery Harrison picked up the singles win over Lilly Geifer, 7-5, and 6-2. The second doubles team grabbed the other win, as Audrey Scarlett and Genna Preston defeated Abbey Wagoner and Chloe Marion, 6-1 and 6-1. The JV team won their match 3-2 over Silver Creek.

Brownstown hosts Trinity Lutheran tonight at 4:30 p.m.

Boys Golf

Brownstown Central

The Braves competed at Rock Hollow Golf Course for the Hall of Fame Classic on Saturday in boys’ golf. Brownstown finished in 17th place with a score of 341.

Micah Sheffer recorded the low round of 78 for the Braves, followed by Caiden Gwin, who scored an 81. Matthew Reedy scored an 86, Collin Downing recorded a 96, with Smith Hackman finishing his 18-holes with a score of 106.

The JV team competed at Bedford North Lawrence, finishing in 12th place with a team score of 379. Led by Cole Brelage (91) and Drew Shelton (92). Caden Waskom and Carter Covert both had 98’s, while Isaiah Sitterding recorded a 100.
