Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars hosted Scottsburg on Tuesday evening, coming up short to the Warriors by four runs in a 6-2 loss. The team was limited to one hit by Chase Bode. Trinity tied the game in the fourth inning at two, but Scottsburg responded with a four run fifth inning to take the win.

Jackson Trueblood grounded out to second base for an RBI, while Drake Goodpaster had the other run batted in. Goodpaster walked in the fourth inning, scoring Levi Pottschmidt.

Trinity falls to 1-8 on the season and travels to Jac-Cen-Del tonight for a matchup with the Eagles at 5 p.m.

Brownstown Central

The Braves grabbed a win over Lanesville on Tuesday, defeating the Eagles 7-2 to grab their seventh win.

Brownstown compiled 12 hits, led by Preston Garrison who recorded three of them. Grayson Cassidy, Grant Killey, and Pierson Wheeler also recorded two hits.

The Braves took the early 6-0 lead after three innings, cruising to the win.

Softball

Brownstown Central

The Lady Braves hosted Madison on Tuesday in softball. Brownstown kicked off the evening with an eight-run first inning, taking an 11-run lead after two innings.

Madison battled back, but it wouldn’t be enough, as Brownstown defeated the Cubs, 15-10 to improve to 8-3 on the 2023-24 season. The team recorded 13 hits, including four doubles. Adelynn Anderson and Kyndle Huddleston led the team with two hits a piece.

Kelsey Schneider pitched for Brownstown, lasting 4.2 innings, allowing two runs, none of them earned. Avery Wilson finished the evening on the mound, pitching the final 2.1 innings, allowing five hits and securing the win.

Brownstown hosts Corydon Central tonight at 6 p.m.

Crothersville

The Lady Tigers hosted South Central (Elizabeth) on Wednesday, dropping the matchup with the Rebels 16-1. South Central took a commanding 14-1 lead after three innings, ending the game in five innings.

Zoey Prince had the lone hit and RBI, driving in Kinsey Martin with a single in the third inning. Dacie Hughes started the game on the mound for Crothersville, pitching three innings, allowing 15 hits and 14 runs, striking out two batters.

The Tigers will face off with Trinity Lutheran on Friday in Crothersville at 5 p.m.

Boys Golf

Crothersville

The Tigers competed at Champions Pointe Golf Course against Corydon Central, Eastern (Pekin) and Henryville on Tuesday. Logen O’Sullivan shot a 53 for the Tigers, followed by Beau Napier, who recorded a 57.

Corydon Central won the meet with a score of 168, followed by Eastern (Pekin) with a 220, with Henryville finishing third with a score of 226.

The team will be in action on May, 8th at Butler Falls Golf Course in Hanover at 5 p.m.

Track and field

Crothersville

The Tigers competed at South Decatur on Tuesday evening. The girls team scored 9 points, dropping the meet to the Cougars. The boys scored 47 points and fell to the Cougatrs by 17 points.

On the boys side, Dirk Crater led the way, winning the 800, 1600, and 3200-meter competitions for the Tigers.

Crothersville will travel to Austin for a meet on Monday, Apr. 29th at 5 p.m. They will face Henryville and New Washington along with the Eagles.

The Owls faced off with HHC opponent in Floyd Central on Tuesday.

Seymour would defeat the Highlanders 3-2, to secure the win, taking the second singles matches and both doubles to grab the victory.

The Owls will face Jennings County on Monday evening.
