Roger Lee Weddel, age 77, a lifelong resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2024 at St. Vincent Heart Center. He was born on August 5, 1946 to the late Raymond Weddel and the late Claribel (Noble) Ault.

Roger attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Seymour, Indiana. He graduated in 1964 from Freetown High School and after falling in love at a very young age, on April 17, 1965, he married the love of his life and soulmate, Pamela Jane (Pifer) Weddel of Seymour, Indiana.

Roger enjoyed gardening, flowers and was just naturally a happy man. He lived his life in a selfless manner. He was kind and generous and a true gentleman to everyone. He never spoke ill of anyone and believed that your word was your bond and was a wonderful man that was focused and dedicated to his family. He loved his family dearly and especially his grandbabies.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Zachary Weddel of Seymour, Indiana and one daughter, Candace Mellencamp and her husband Michael of Seymour, Indiana. One sister, Marilyn McKinney of Columbus, Indiana.

Seven grandchildren, Dwight Weddel, Lyndsay Coleman, Chase Johnson, Ali Weddel, Zane Weddel, Asher Weddel and Kylan Ellerbe. Three great grandchildren, Hagan Sims, Cambry Johnson and Laura Coleman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Mark Allen Weddel, one brother, Lyle Ault and one great great grandson, William Coleman.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home – Seymour Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Angel Armstrong officiating. Private family graveside services will be held at Riverview Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial donations be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church.
