Judith Constance Ahlbrand McGinley, 81, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. She was born April 5, 1943 in Seymour to the late Albert and Alice Steinwedel Ahlbrand. Judy was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and was devoted to her faith all her life. She graduated from Seymour High School, class of 1961.

She married Gerald McGinley on March 23, 1963 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.

During her high school years and for a time after graduating, she worked at JC Penney. The family relocated to Olathe, Kansas for about ten years before returning to Seymour. While in Olathe, Judy worked at the school cafeteria. Upon returning to Seymour, she worked as the office manager at JB Battery until retirement. After retiring, she found joy in working at McDonalds and Hardees. She enjoyed playing bridge, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” McGinley, son, Jeffrey (Patricia) McGinley of Martinsville, daughters, Lori (Jeff) Vaughn of Floyds Knobs and Jennifer (Michael) Patmore of Seymour, grandchildren, Bobby Wilson, Brandon (Liz) Wilson, Christopher (Claire) Patmore, Emma (Jacob) Keith, Haley (Andrew) Ellis, as well as eight great-grandchildren.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Richard Paul Ahlbrand, A. James Ahlbrand, Phillip John Ahlbrand and Albert Charles Ahlbrand and grandson Harrison Mowery.

Visitation for Judy will be at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 North Chestnut Street, Seymour on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. The service will be at Burkholder Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Interment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
