Herschel Douglas Rose, 75, of Seymour passed away on April 18, 2024, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. Herschel was born on May 8, 1948, in Seymour to Kenneth and Velma (Creveston) Rose. He was a veteran of the United States Army from 1967-1969, where he served in the 101st Airborne Division and graduated from Army Ranger School. On September 5, 1970, he married Linda Eglen. Herschel was a supervisor for Golden Foundry in Columbus before his retirement. In his free time, he loved woodworking, refinishing old cars, and going to car shows. He was a member of the Seymour Christian Church and the National Rifle Association.

Herschel is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters: Katrina (Tim) Hillenburg and Karrie Miller; sister, Theresa (Ray) Lucas; grandchildren: Danielle (Thomas) Liedberg, Mackenzie (Preston) Gerbig and Emma Miller; great grandson, Jax Gerbig. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Rita Kerkhof and Pat Kimbell, and brothers-in-law, Lloyd Kerkhof and Steve Kimbell.

Per the wishes of Herschel and his family, cremation will take place. Memorial contributions in memory of Herschel may be directed to the Humane Society of Jackson County.
