Daniel Wayne Bottorff, 63, of Seymour passed away after a brief illness Saturday, April 20, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born August 13, 1960, to Richard Bottorff and Jean (Ashcraft) Richards, and they survive.

Daniel was a 1978 graduate of Seymour High School, where he ran track, going to State for three of those years; he still holds the high hurdle high school record. He then went on to attend the University of Evansville. An avid soccer fan, he was influential in youth soccer throughout his adult life, coaching games with his son and cheering on his favorite players. He was a talented bass guitarist and played in many bands including Spiral Staircase. Daniel also served many churches with his musical talents, running their sound systems. He had a varied career, working as a retirement consultant while in Texas, security guard at Cummins, managing restaurants, and finally, owning his own Human Resources consulting firm, BHR Consulting. On December 13, 2014, He married Rebecca (Yeager) Bottorff, and she survives.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Rebecca; his parents, Richard (Nancy) Bottorff and Jean (Willie) Richards; children, Justin Bottorff, Heather Ashby, and Jennifer (Kim) Hickam; grandchildren, Joshua Maggard, Brooklynn Maggard, Billy Maggard, and Margaret “Maggie” Hickam; sisters, Debbie (Tom) Stephens and Karen Colvin; many nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services for Daniel will be Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Voss &Sons Funeral Home, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
