Seymour

The Owls picked up another dominant win on Monday evening. Defeating Mitchell 12-1 for their 10th win of the season. Seymour brought the offense, compiling 9 hits and 9 RBI’s, led by Aaron Holt who recorded four hits and three runs batted in for the Owls.

Caydin Bishop recorded a two-run single in the top of the sixth inning. Mikey Wright threw a complete-game, lasting six innings, allowing two hits and one run. Wright struck out 11 batters in his performance.

Seymour will face Columbus North tomorrow at 6 p.m. That game will be at Seymour High School.

Brownstown Central

The Braves traveled to North Harrison for a matchup with the Cougars on Monday. Brownstown would get walked-off on a single from Jakob Hoyer. The hit gave North Harrison the 4-3 win in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game would be tied at 3 from the second inning on, until the run from the Cougars.

Chick Tiemeyer led Brownstown in hits with three, followed by Trent Lowery, Grant Killey and Lane Pendleton, who all had two for the Braves. Grayson Cassidy recorded the other hit. Cassidy and Lowery recorded the RBI’s in the first and second inning. Dalton Reedy pitched for Brownstown, going 6.2 innings, allowing six hits, one earned run and striking out eight batters.

Brownstown faced Lanesville on Tuesday, now preparing to host Scottsburg tomorrow at 6 p.m.

Crothersville

The Crothersville baseball team went on the road to face Jac-Cen-Del on Monday, losing to the Eagles 14-4 in five innings. Lucas Hilton led the team in hits with two of them, while Corey Kelshaw led the team in RBI’s with two. Nolan Nickell, Beau Napier, and Dirk Crater recorded the other hits in the loss.

Crothersville hosts New Washington tomorrow at 5 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Lady Cougars made up their game with Indianapolis Lutheran on Monday on the road, losing to the Saints, 5-2. The team wouldn’t record a hit, falling to 8-4 on the season. Trinity will now host New Washington tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.

Seymour

The Owls faced off with Charlestown Monday, losing the matchup to the Pirates 8-4. Abby Followell smoked a three-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to take a 3-1 lead.

Mia Long recorded a three run double in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the 8-4 lead for Charlestown.

Seymour is back in action next Monday at Salem beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Boys Golf

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars boys’ golf team had a match at Hidden Creek on Monday against North Harrison, Charlestown, and the Christian Academy of Indiana. Trinity finished in fourth place with a team score of 200. It was the best score of the season so far for Trinity.

Alex Overgaard led the way with a 47, followed by Rylan Adair, who carded a 50.

The Braves won their meet at Scottsburg on Monday. Scoring a total of 150 to win the meeting over Scottsburg (160), Austin (192), and Clarksville (267).

Micah Sheffer earned medalist honors with a score of 35. Caiden Gwin and Smith Hackman followed with scores of 38.

Cancelations and Postponements

Seymour canceled all of their athletic events Tuesday due to weather.

Brownstown postponed their boys golf meet against Columbus East to Thursday at the same start time of 4:30 p.m. The track meet at Brown County was canceled and won’t be made up.
